February Meeting

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009
February 6, 2009
7:00 pmto10:00 pm

***UPDATE*** –

We unfortunately do not have the Brewhouse room for tomorrow’s meeting.  I haven’t been able to think of a decent alternative (Kaldi’s is closing / is closed).  If someone can think of an alternative please post in the comments.  Sorry for the short notice, but I’m voting we consider the meeting cancelled. Original post info left below for posterity.

I will be giving the following talk:

‘Introduction to packet analysis (how do I shot sniffer ?)’

We will go over the basics of capturing network data, filtering, analyzing and possibly mangling said data.  As always, we will focus on open source / free software and tools and the hackers perspective.

Obligatory bio blurb:

vom is a network engineer for a regional technology and service provider. His interests include networking, *nix / open source, and security.  vom’s first modem was 300 baud (that’s bits per second you damned kids).
